And, lucky you, I tackled fennel in an earlier CSA post: http://yankee-kitchen-ninja.blogspot.com/2012/05/csa-share-ninja-rescue-kale-asparagus.htmlKitchen Ninjahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03978003037474284948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3196686888983908972.post-35167061287592777272012-07-27T09:40:51.244-04:002012-07-27T09:40:51.244-04:00I shred cabbage and saute it in a pan, and use it ...I shred cabbage and saute it in a pan, and use it instead of rice for stir fries. It's a fun alternative, and soaks up any kind of sauce in a similar way. I also make haluski (a fabulous unhealthy Polish recipe) by sauteing sliced cabbage and onions with butter, adding about a tablespoon or two of sugar (depending on the amount of cabbage), salt and pepper to taste, then combining with cooked egg noodles. So good!

I got fennel in my CSA share this week and have no idea what to do with it! Any ideas?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02305270479088615574noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3196686888983908972.post-29918734264918233322012-07-25T23:19:50.762-04:002012-07-25T23:19:50.762-04:00Please do share the cabbage & cheddar pie reci...Please do share the cabbage & cheddar pie recipe with us, Kiersten -- that sounds excellent.Kitchen Ninjahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03978003037474284948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3196686888983908972.post-53835103774905913292012-07-25T19:12:36.540-04:002012-07-25T19:12:36.540-04:00My husband haaaates cabbage. And he eats just about anything. :) I have a cabbage & cheddar pie recipe (forgot where I got it from!) that I think is really good and different. And I always love stuffed cabbage leaves!Kiersten @ Oh My Veggieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05879131170308980919noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3196686888983908972.post-82572875925158202992012-07-23T18:28:40.647-04:002012-07-23T18:28:40.647-04:00Seriously, Eileen -- stirred into mac and cheese? ...Seriously, Eileen -- stirred into mac and cheese? I also like to chop cabbage and stir it into a batch of mac and cheese before baking. Braised cabbage and apples with red wine and caraway seed is great (although way too fall-y for July), as is stir-fried cabbage with shredded carrot, sriracha sauce, and toasted sesame seeds and/or cashews.Eileenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14952359002744629140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3196686888983908972.post-51234175094465040492012-07-23T12:54:09.565-04:002012-07-23T12:54:09.565-04:00Spray a baking pan with Pam, cut the cabbage into ...Spray a baking pan with Pam, cut the cabbage into bite sized pieces and generously sprinkle your favorite flavor of Mrs. Dash, maybe some dehydrated onion and some garlic powder then spray again with Pam then cover with tin foil and bake.
